Dr. Raidl resigns from the Supervisory Board due to time constraints
Dkfm. Dr. Claus Raidl has regretfully announced his resignment from the Supervisory Board of Montana Tech Components AG due to time constraints caused by his noumerous board seats.
Montana Tech Components AG owns 99.31% of the voting rights and 98.77% of the capital share of Alu Menziken Holding AG. The MTC shares can be publicly traded since Dec 30, 2009.
Menziken, January 12, 2010 – Before year-end 2009 the registered shares of Montana Tech Components AG started to be publicly traded. This came along with the successful finalization of the exchange offer to the minority shareholders of Alu Menziken Holding AG.

Menziken, December 7, 2009 – The exchange offer made by Montana Tech Components AG to the minority shareholders of Alu Menziken Holding AG was accepted overwhelmingly. Almost 90% of the free float shares were tendered.

Menziken, December 4, 2009 - The extraordinary general assembly of Montana Tech Components AG has today unanimously positively decided upon all motions of the Supervisory Board. Menziken, November 13, 2009 – Montana Tech Components AG opened the most modern production plant for aluminum profiles in Baia Mare in Romania. The plant was built to fulfill a long-term contract with EADS/Airbus Industries.

Menziken, November 10, 2009 – Montana Tech Components AG has successfully carried out the capital increase of October 2009 which could only be subscribed by the existing shareholders. The shareholders signed the maximum volume of EUR 18 million.

Joint Venture between VARTA Microbattery and Volkswagen
Menziken, September 25, 2009 - VARTA Microbattery and Volkswagen intend to establish a research co-operation subject to the approval of the responsible Federal Trade Commission to conduct the development of future battery systems in vehicles with electric drive. The aim is to improve the efficiency characteristics of these batteries to allow both companies to have a stronger market presence in electric vehicles.

VARTA Microbattery launches Polytos project by the „Forum Organic Electronics“ excellence cluster
Menziken, June 29, 2009 - VARTA Microbattery GmbH announced today that it has launched the “Printed Organic Switches and Chips“ project (Polytos) together with its partners in the excellence cluster known as the “Forum Organic Electronics“. The aim of this project, which is being sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and conducted by a consortium headed by Merck, is to develop new materials, concepts, components, manufacturing processes and software for printed organic circuits with integrated sensors for applications in the packaging industry.
